Organic grosbeak seed oil standardized for α-linolenic acid content of more than 60% - the common grosbeak is an oil plant rich in essential fatty acids, especially in a very important acid from the omega-3 series that is rarely found in plants: alpha-linolenic acid (α-linolenic acid, ALA). ALA acid gives rise in the body to a whole family of omega-3 fatty acids. Among the ALA derivatives, the most important are: docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). DHA acid is commonly found in cell/plasma membranes throughout the body. It is the main building block of cell membranes of neurons of the cerebral cortex in the central nervous system (up to 50% of the total membrane fraction phospholipids) and cell membranes of cones and rods in the retina, responsible for night and color vision. It is especially valuable for the elderly. The oil of the common grosbeak also provides a biological background, supporting the assimilation of the active ingredients contained in the outer capsule of ProOptical® (lutein, zeaxanthin and astaxanthin).

Acerola fruit juice extract standardized for vitamin C content - acerola fruit contains a very high portion of vitamin C; 100 g of fresh fruit contains 1000-4500 mg of this vitamin. In addition, acerola fruits contain many other valuable compounds, such as anthocyanins and carotenoids, including beta-carotene (provitamin A) and minerals (potassium, phosphorus, calcium, iron). Additionally, these fruits also contain B vitamins.
Vitamin C:
- helps protect cells from oxidative stress;
- helps in the proper production of collagen for the proper functioning of blood vessels, bones, cartilage, gums, skin and teeth;
- helps in the proper functioning of the nervous system and the maintenance of normal psychological functions;
- helps in regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E.

Micronized crystals of lutein and zeaxanthin extracted from erect velvet, suspended in safflower oil extracted from safflower fruit - lutein and zeaxanthin are natural carotenoids (both compounds are structural isomers), found in the macula of the human retina. The concentration of lutein and zeaxanthin in the macula decreases with age. The result is a greater susceptibility of macular photoreceptors (cones and rods) to the adverse effects of blue light from the UV range. Both lutein and zeaxanthin must be supplied to the body with a plant-based diet; humans cannot synthesize these compounds. Unfortunately, their consumption in European countries is several times lower than the estimated intake of at least 6 mg per day 1 . The flowers of erect velvet are a valuable source of both carotenoids. Lutein and zeaxanthin in suspended form (diester-fatty acid combinations) in safflower oil are stable and close to their natural environment. The crystal form of lutein and zeaxanthin used, as well as the fatty environment (the presence of fatty acids contained in the oil) promotes their bioavailability. Lutein and zeaxanthin undergo similar transformations in the body as lipids. Taken in the diet, after digestion in the stomach and duodenum, together with monoglycerides and free fatty acids, in the presence of bile salts, they form complexes that enable them to be retained in water in the form of a micellar solution. From the intestine, these compounds (in the form of chylomicrons) are secreted into the lymphatic vessels and transported through the blood to the liver. The blood then transports them as lipoproteins from the liver to the tissues; both compounds accumulate mainly in the lens of the eye and the central part of the retina - the macula. The quantitative ratio of lutein to zeaxanthin in the entire preparation is 5:1; this is the optimal proportion, included in clinical studies and recommended worldwide 2 - 4 .

Extract of the aplanspor green microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis standardized for astaxanthin content - astaxanthin, known as the queen of carotenoids, is a naturally occurring compound belonging to the xanthophyll group. Carotenoids are pigments synthesized by plants, fungi, bacteria and algae. These pigments take part in many biochemical processes in plants and are responsible for the color of many fruits and flowers and exhibit strong antioxidant properties. The human body cannot synthesize carotenoids, so they must be supplied with food. Astaxanthin biosynthesis is possible by some species of algae, yeasts, Gram-negative bacteria and plants. The main sources of astaxanthin in the human diet are fish and seafood. However, its richest source is Haematoccocus pluvalis algae. In the body, astaxanthin, in the presence of bile acids, binds to fats to form micelles and in this form it is transported to the body's tissues.

A blend of carotenoids extracted from tomato fruits, including microencapsulated natural lycopene - lycopene is a natural carotenoid found in large amounts in tomato fruits. Fresh tomatoes may contain up to 20 mg of lycopene per 100 grams. Its sources are also other vegetables and fruits (especially red ones), such as watermelon, red grapefruit, rosehips, red pepper, guava and papaya.

Organic zinc salts (zinc citrate) – zinc helps maintain proper vision; contributes to the maintenance of proper vitamin A metabolism; helps protect cells from oxidative stress; helps in proper protein synthesis; contributes to the maintenance of proper fatty acid metabolism.

Schisandra fruit extract standardized to contain 5% schizandrin - Schisandra occurs naturally in mountain forests and river valleys - mainly in Russia, Korea, Japan and China. In Chinese, the name of this plant means "fruit of five flavors", as the sweet and sour flavors are perceptible in the skin and flesh. The seeds, however, have a tart, bitter and salty taste. In Asia, schisandra is grownnot only for ornamental purposes, but primarily for its fruit, which are rich in many valuable nutrients. Among the most important group of compounds present in thefruit of schisandra are polyphenols - lignans (schizandroles and schizandrins). Additionally, fruits are also rich in organic acids (including lemon and apple), vitamins (including vitamin C and E) and minerals (including zinc, manganese, copper, iron). Schisandra also contains tannins, sugars and an essential oil, mainly citral with a lemon-like scent.

Grape seed extract standardized to 95% proanthocyanidins (including 92% polyphenols) - apart from sugars, proteins and lipids, grape seeds also contain 5-8% polyphenols. Among the polyphenols found in the seeds are catechins, proanthocyanidins, resveratrol and phenolic acids.

Bilberry extract standardized for 25% anthocyanins - anthocyanins belong to polyphenolic organic compounds - flavonoids; blueberry fruit is one of the most valuable anthocyanin raw materials. In addition, bilberry fruits also contain tannins - gallotannins and ellagitannins; flavonoids - quercetin, catechins; phenolic acids - gallic acid and hydroxycinnamic acids - chlorogenic acid. Elderberry extract standardized to 30% polyphenols - in elderberry fruit the main bioactive components are anthocyanins (significant content; 0.2-1%), flavonols, organic acids, vitamin C, B vitamins (including folic acid), minerals (potassium, calcium, phosphorus) and carbohydrates (mainly simple sugars: glucose and fructose)

Blackcurrant leaf extract standardized for 1% rutin - blackcurrant leaves are a valuable source of bioactive compounds (polyphenols) with antioxidant properties. The main phenolic compounds detected in leaves include: quercetin, myricetin and rutin.

Chokeberry fruit extract standardized for 40% polyphenols (catechins) - chokeberry fruit contains, among others: anthocyanins, flavonols, phenolic acids and tannins, but also vitamins (C, B2, B6, E, P, PP) and ingredients minerals (molybdenum, manganese, copper, boron, iodine, cobalt). It is believed that the most important active ingredients of chokeberry fruits, responsible for most of its valuable properties, are polyphenols.

A concentrated blend of carotenoids extracted from high velvet flowers suspended in soybean oil extracted from common soybeans, including zeaxanthin - high velvet is a valuable natural source of carotenoids such as lutein and zeaxanthin. Lutein and zeaxanthin in suspended form (ester combinations with fatty acids) in soybean oil are stable and close to their natural environment.

Saffron stamen extract standardized for 2% crocin and 2% safranal - saffron (cultivated crocus) has been known as a valuable plant and spice for many thousands of years. The active ingredients of saffron are considered to be essential oils and glycosides: crocetin and crocin responsible for the yellow-orange color, picrocrocin giving the taste and safranal responsible for the smell.
