ProBactilardii® is a food supplement consisting
of 2 complementary capsules. The Synbiotic capsule contains a prebiotic (in the form of acacia
fibre) and the proprietary BACTILARDII® probiotic formula, based on 4 bacterial strains and 1
yeast strain, whose viability is guaranteed at the end of the product's shelf life. The
Postbiotic capsule contains a postbiotic in a formula based on butyric acid. ProBactilardii®features not only an innovative
composition, but also a patented formula and direct packaging, ensuring maximum protection of microbial
strains contained inside the capsule.
What lives inside us?
The gut microbiota of a healthy human consists of approximately 100 trillion (!) beneficial
microorganisms (bacteria, fungi and even viruses), which exceeds the total number of cells in the human
body tenfold.
Up to 500-1000 beneficial species of microorganisms can live in the
human intestines, most in the large intestine. The composition of the
microbiota depends on many factors, however bacteria of the genus Bacteroides, Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus are almost always dominant.
In addition to genetic determinants, the composition of gut microbiota can be affected
mainly by age, diet, geographical region, sanitation and medicines used.
The composition and population of the microbiome can be affected by, among other things:
excessive stress,
change in lifestyle,
fatigue,
diseases,
antibiotic use,
sudden change in diet,
e.g. due to a change in location, travel to tropical or exotic countries with a
different diet.
Microorganisms naturally present in the human body have many useful functions, including
beneficial effects on:

Innovative composition – a combination
of prebiotic, probiotic and postbiotic in one product
PROBIOTICS are products containing selected live strains of microorganisms support the human
body by maintaining the balance of the gut microbiota. The strains contained in
ProBactilardii® have broad, clinically documented health-promoting properties.
PREBIOTICS are products that are used by the beneficial microorganisms of the human
microflora (mainly the intestinal microflora, but not exclusively), supporting the optimal function of
the human body. The acacia fibre used in ProBactilardii® is a soluble fibre type.
POSTBIOTICS are defined as the combination of all bioactive ingredients produced by
bacteria, for example during fermentation, that support the human body. Another ingredient used in
ProBactilardia® is butyric acid. It is naturally biosynthesized in the large intestine and
its supplementation can support the effects of butyric acid synthesized in the intestines.
Proprietary Bactilardii® formula
4 strains of live, freeze-dried, selected and branded bacterial strains (Bifidobacterium
bifidum Rosell® R0071, Bifidobacterium longum Rosell® R0175,
Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell® R0052 and Lactobacillus rhamnosus
Rosell® R0011) in DUOLIFE proprietary proportions plus 1 billion yeast strains
(Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-1079).
BACTILARDII®is a formula created exclusively for DUOLIFE by a world expert in
probiotics
– Canadian company Lallemand.
Concentrated formula
Concentrated formula - the total amount of microorganisms is 9 billion CFU = 9x109 CFU (CFU
= colony-forming unit) of LIVE freeze-dried bacteria and yeast cultures GUARANTEED in the
formula AT THE END OF THE PRODUCT'S SHELF LIFE. Concentrated dose guarantees convenient use,
usually once per day, both capsules together.
Concentrated dose guarantees convenient use, usually once per day, both
capsules together.
The combined use involves taking 2 capsules at once – the
synbiotic in the first capsule and the postbiotic in the second capsule.
Stability and viability of microorganisms
Laboratory-confirmed viability of bacterial and yeast cultures is guaranteed in the formula at the end of the product's shelf life. Stability and viability of microorganisms was tested and laboratory-confirmed in reputed laboratories in the United States and Canada.
Results of the conducted research show that the number of live bacteria cultures in ProBactilardii® is compliant with the amount stated on the product label during the entire storage period, up until the end of the best before date, while stored at room temperature (with no necessity to refrigerate the product).
Stability tests were also conducted in real time covering 24 months: from the production date until the finish of the best before date in conditions resembling storage conditions indicated on the product label.
The stability test was performed at the Lallemand Health Solutions laboratory in Canada, in line with the ICH Q1A (R2) international guidelines for pharmaceutical products. ICH guidelines are the main applicable criteria for stability testing of pharmaceutical products. They were developed by the International Conference on Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Registration of Pharmaceuticals for Human Use, ICH.
Adhesion to intestinal epithelial cells - do you know
how probiotics work?
Figure 1: The barrier effect of Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus
Rosell® R0011 (A) and Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell®
R0052 (B) strains and their adhesion to the intestinal epithelium conditioning probiotic
activity was demonstrated.
Resistance during passage through the gastrointestinal
tract
Resistance during passage through the gastrointestinal tract has been confirmed in an
experimental study performed for the R0052 and R0011 strains using an in vitro model (IViDiS, in vitro
Digestive System). It confirms the good stability of the strains in gastric and duodenal environment
[1.]
Conclusions: The survival of the R0052 and R0011 strains is optimal up to 90 minutes of
passage through the stomach and another 90 minutes through the duodenum, which allows to infer the
stability of the strains throughout the passage through the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract
under physiological conditions.
Clinical trials in healthy volunteers taking the food supplement with the R0011 strain
showed good survival of bacteria throughout the human gastrointestinal tract [2].
Conclusions: The number of R0011 strain bacilli in the faeces of the subjects before
consuming the supplement (3 weeks, exclusion) and during consumption (12 days, consumption) and during
the one-week wash-out period.
Ideal proportions
The strains in this product have been used in DUOLIFE proprietary proportions and in the
full portions used in many clinical trials.
Optimal protection of strains
Proprietary innovative formulation protects strains from adverse conditions and from stomach
acid and bile with proprietary BIO-SUPPORT™ technology. The stability of the strains within the
gastrointestinal tract has been proven in preclinical in vitro tests and in clinical trials. The
microgranules are further protected by delayed-release HPMC capsules, all encapsulated in patented,
drug-certified ACTIV-VIAL™ direct packaging with Activ-Polymer™ lining that minimizes the ingress of
moisture, light and oxygen to the capsules in the container, protecting bacterial and yeast strains and
other ingredients during product storage
BIO-SUPPORT™ technology action scheme – ensuring protection of
all
Lallemand strains
Patented, innovative, drug-certified ACTIV-VIAL™ direct packaging
Convenience
It does not require refrigeration. Recommended storage at room temperature (20-25°C).
Ingredients of natural origin
Including 4 bacterial strains and 1 yeast strain in the form of LIVE freeze-dried
microorganisms. The natural substance that protects the strains against the harmful effects of
atmospheric oxygen is vitamin C of natural origin - L-ascorbic acid (described on the label as an
antioxidant, pursuant to the EU Regulation (EC) 1333/2008).
